I also started my training in music (Bachelor of Music from the University of Auckland) and went on to do a Diploma in Audio Engineering from the Music & Audio Institute of New Zealand, which was available when I studied in 2001. Like Gil, I feel my music background has been fundamental in my sound engineering career, and I also got my start in sound for theatre from being a musician in an amateur Shakespeare production! I left NZ in 2002 to pursue opportunities overseas, and now run my own sound design, sound engineering & voice production business (Sounds Wilde). I completely agree with her advice about just jumping in and learning as you go, it’s the best way to do it! Although my sound training was great for teaching me the basics and the language of sound, most of my learning has come from doing the job.

blog. It appears as if some of the written text in your content are
running off the screen. Can someone else please comment and
let me know if this is happening to them as well?

This may be a issue with my web browser because I’ve had this
happen previously. Cheers
